Viscosity refers to the resistance to fluid flow. For gear transmission systems, viscosity is the most important physical characteristic of lubricating oil. The lubricating oil must have suitable fluidity to ensure adequate lubrication for components at various temperatures. The decrease in viscosity in the use of lubricating oil is due to the selection of low-viscosity base oils and the selection of more polymer polymers to increase the viscosity. During the use of lubricating oil, under long-term high temperature and high pressure, The molecular chain of the high molecular hydrocarbon polymer is broken and the viscosity is reduced. Therefore, the degree of viscosity change is related to the quality of the lubricant.

In addition, the higher the working temperature and the faster the speed of the gearbox, in order to maintain the stability of the high temperature oil film, the higher the oil viscosity is required.

 

In addition, to evaluate the quality of a lubricating oil, it mainly depends on its viscosity stability performance. The higher the viscosity, the thicker the oil film. It is suitable for high-speed, high-power and high-temperature gearboxes. The lower the viscosity, the thinner the oil film, which is suitable for low speed and low speed. Power, gearbox with low working temperature. But no matter the viscosity is high or low, the oil must have good oxidation resistance and anti-deterioration performance under high temperature conditions.
