Among beer and beverage machinery and equipment, the most important is the filling machine. Because the wine tank, dispenser, filling valve, gland head and other parts are in contact with beer and beverages, the sealing rubber used in these parts must be edible rubber.
The most commonly used in the food industry is EPDM rubber material, which is harmless to the human body.

At present, most beer and beverage factories in China still use animal oil and medical petroleum jelly as the lubrication of EPDM rubber.
These disadvantages are mainly: First, because animal oil has a corrosive effect on EPDM, and generally has a peculiar smell, it is easy to be mixed into beer, which affects the taste of beer. The shelf life of animal oil itself is not long, and bacteria can easily contaminate beer and shorten the shelf life of beer.

Using petroleum jelly in a certain temperature and pressure environment, bacteria may be generated within 100 hours, and there is a tendency to acidify at the same time; more than 200 hours, it starts to become acid, which not only affects the taste but also corrodes the equipment after long-term use.
3. Both of these two products will directly reduce the surface tension of beer liquid and affect the formation and durability of beer foam. If it is lubricated once a week, EPDM rubber is in a dry friction state most of the time. The rubber powder produced after long-term friction will be carried into beer or beverages, making the product unable to pass the quality inspection.
Fourth, the lubrication performance and lubrication durability of these two products are very poor, which will greatly shorten the service life of EPDM sealing rubber, thereby increasing production costs. At the same time, frequent relubrication times increase the downtime and affect the continuous production.
At present, the protection of the safety and health of consumers has attracted more and more attention in the international community. Europe and the United States legally compel food factories to install control systems and health and safety systems, which are called HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
For example, each brewery should analyze the production department based on physical, microbiological and chemical hazards, identify important control and pollution points, and initiate preventive scale controls to minimize hazards.
All lubrication points are classified according to whether the lubricant may come into contact with beer or beverages.
If the contamination may be related to food hygiene, only USDA (Ministry of Agriculture)-H1 certified food grade lubricants can be used. The most notable feature is that contact with food is harmless to health, and ordinary industrial lubricants contain carcinogenic minerals.
