How to lubricate the car ball head?

The ball head bolt is an important automotive component that can simultaneously realize the up and down movement of the chassis suspension system and the rotational movement of the steering system at one point.

Car handling stability, driving smoothness, comfort, safety, and important components for correct and accurate driving of the car, also known as ball hinges and ball joints. Ball pins are widely used in the suspension and stability of the chassis parts system such as the hybrid joint, the rotary joint and the arm.

The main components of the ball pin system are ball pin, dust cover, sealing grease, spherical grease, ball pin bracket, and ball pin cover.

The spherical grease is evenly distributed between the ball head and the pin seat, and the sealing grease prevents external contaminants from entering the mating surface. The same type of grease can be used for spherical grease and sealing grease.

In order to prevent the swing of the ball joint and reduce the displacement of the ball joint under load, please try to minimize the gap between the ball pin and the ball pin bracket.

In addition to friction, ball head bolts and ball head bolt seats also need to meet the requirements of mobility, durability, and reliability.

There are two types of ball head bolts and ball head bolt seats, steel-to-steel and steel-to-plastic. At present, cars mainly adopt friction pair types of steel ball head bolts and plastic ball head bolt seats.

Due to the repeated pressure and friction of the ball, the ball seat has problems such as poor lubrication and gradual failure, inability to steer correctly, and steering delay. Therefore, the ball bearing surface must have abrasion and wear resistance to ensure the smoothness of operation and the immediacy of steering.

In addition to ensuring wear resistance for the materials of the ball and ball pin seat, it is also necessary to add special grease between the contact surface of the metal ball and the ball pin seat. When poor lubrication occurs, abnormal wear and metal fatigue will occur between the ball and socket joints, resulting in looseness, unsmooth steering operation, increased noise, and shortened life. In severe cases, it may directly endanger the driving safety of the car, such as failure to steer correctly or slow steering.
