How to judge the pros and cons of low temperature grease? The more intuitive method is to submit a product quality inspection report to the manufacturer (generally companies do not have grease inspection equipment and cannot conduct detailed professional inspections).
The grease quality inspection report records the data of each index of the product in detail. The main indexes of low temperature grease are as follows
1. Low-temperature similar viscosity: Refers to the fluidity of the grease in a low-temperature environment. If the similar viscosity is too high, it will affect the low-temperature start and make it difficult to start.
2. Extreme pressure: Wear resistance. Extreme pressure is an important indicator to prevent friction and extend bearing life. Grease without extreme pressure or extreme pressure that does not meet the load of the equipment will reduce the life of the bearing itself.
3. Pumpability: Low-temperature lubricating greases usually use pump equipment to lubricate the bearings. Grease with poor pumpability is difficult to transport to the lubrication point.
Regarding the composition of low-temperature grease, since the composition structure is the main factor that determines the performance of the grease, the component that has the greatest impact on the low-temperature performance of the grease is the base oil. It can be known specifically which type of base oil and how many bonding points the base oil has, which can be more effective to judge the low temperature resistance of the grease.
