Gear lubricating grease has deteriorated, motor bearing failures frequently occur, and repeated inspections have made the company fatigued. Reliable lubrication has of course become the dream of all open, single shielded or single sealed bearing motors. In fact, all motor gear greases deteriorate due to oxidation, excessive oil seepage, mechanical operation, oil volatilization and other reasons.

 

In actual work, in order to maintain or stimulate the performance of the motor, it is very important to formulate and follow a scientific revision plan for motor bearing lubrication management.

 

1. Timing

The factors that affect the frequency of grease replacement are very complex, generally including temperature, continuity of use, lubricant injection volume, bearing size and speed, sealing effectiveness and applicability in special applications of grease. Therefore, deciding when and how much grease to exchange is not simple.

Generally, from light-load to medium-load motors in continuous operation, grease replacement is required at least once a year. Every 10 times the nominal temperature is exceeded, the interval between grease changes needs to be shortened by half.

 

2. Quantitative

Determining the amount of grease injected into the motor bearing is one of the important steps for the initial lubrication and replacement of lubrication. If the amount of grease injected is insufficient, the bearing will fail due to insufficient lubrication, and if the amount injected is too much, it will cause problems due to bearing failure or the grease being carried into the solenoid coil.

 

3. Sort

Removing as much old grease as possible is an important method to prevent grease deterioration, leakage and contamination, and it is also the key to avoid mixing incompatible grease. Therefore, please follow the strict cleaning and degreasing sequence after confirming the replacement period and exchange amount.

 

Taking a rolling bearing equipped with a grease inlet and a grease outlet as an example, a 5-step "decompression method" can be used to cleanly complete the flushing and grease changing process:

 

1. Disassembly: Remove the lower grease outlet bolts and remove all hardened grease from the grease outlet.

 

2. Wipe: Wipe the grease port.

 

3. Note: Pour grease into the grease inlet until the new grease is discharged from the grease outlet, and confirm that all the old lubricators are discharged. Under the circumstance of ensuring the safety and feasibility of the equipment operating environment, this program can be executed in synchronization with the operation of the equipment and the cloud.

 

4. Discharge: Even if the grease outlet bolt is not installed, the motor can still work normally, maintain the operating temperature, the extension of the grease is evenly distributed, and the excess grease is discharged from the grease outlet to reduce the internal pressure.

 

5. Installation: Remove excess lubricating grease and install grease-removing bolts.
