How to Prevent Rust on Ball Screws
1. Pre-treatment of Surfaces to Be Protected
· Surface Cleaning: Choose an appropriate cleaning method based on the nature of the surface and specific conditions. Common methods include solvent cleaning, chemical treatment cleaning, and mechanical cleaning.
· Surface Drying: After cleaning, use filtered dry compressed air to blow-dry the surface, a drying oven at 120–170°C, or a clean cloth to wipe it dry.
2. Applying Anti-Rust Oil
· Immersion Method: For small items, immerse them in anti-rust oil to form a protective oil layer on the surface.
· Spraying Method: For larger objects, use compressed air at approximately 0.7 MPa pressure in a clean environment to spray the anti-rust oil. This method is suitable for solvent-diluted or thin-layer anti-rust oils. Ensure adequate fire safety and labor protection measures.
· Brushing Method: For outdoor equipment or products with special shapes, brush anti-rust oil evenly to avoid accumulation and ensure complete coverage.
